This workshop covers both how to deal with poor performance and also how to work through disciplinary proceses.

We call the first part of the day ‘Managing for Success’ because you want your employee to improve. However the second part of the workshop focuses on how to work through a disciplinary process fairly if they don’t improve, or misconduct or serious misconduct occur.

Timing & materials

Workshops start at 9am and run to 4.30pm.

You will be provided with morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea and a comprehensive workbook for each workshop.


Our Facilitators

Nikki Peck has over 20 years of generalist HR experience working in diverse sectors such as health, engineering, utilities, retail and not-for-profit.  Nikki has a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources from The University of Auckland and joined Elephant in 2012. She always gets great reviews as a facilitator and is passionate about providing practical and useful answers!

Nikki is Auckland based.


We have a team of Accredited Management Bites facilitators who have significant experience in designing and delivering management workshops and programmes.  They are able to adapt to any audience, and embody the philosophy of the management bites programme – training that is practical, useful and fun.


Aaron McIntosh has over 20 years experience in HR, L&D, Capability, Health & Safety and management roles with extensive experience developing Health and Safety procedures. He has worked with companies as diverse as McDonalds, MBIE, Fastway Couriers, Craggy Range and ESITO. He joined Elephant in 2015 and runs his own business McIntosh & Co. Aaron is based in the Hawkes Bay but is regularly in Wellington.


Rachael Bryant, Director of ignite people strategies, has over 20 years business experience in HR and organisational development. She is passionate about developing individuals, teams and organisations. Commercially savvy with a down to earth and practical approach, she works as a partner and trusted advisor to support change, learning and growth in individuals, teams and organisations. Rachael is based in the Waikato.


Mark Greaney has worked for over 12 years as a Facilitator and Organisational Development Consultant. He is able to build rapport easily and can turn even the most reluctant attendees into fully engaged and active participants with his fresh, informal and fun approach. His previous roles were in management, recruitment, contracting and teaching fields in NZ and in the UK. Mark runs NZ Facilitators and is Auckland based.


Fraser Atkins had a background in IT and had run a number of different businesses before co-founding Elephant in 2007.

His HR specialities are helping companies drive performance and running investigative interviewing training and processes.

Fraser also facilitates our Management Bites programmes and helped edit the book itself. Fraser splits his time between NZ, California and the UK.
